Notre Vue Estate GSM Rosé 2019 Chalk Hill, California

Pretty salmon in color.

Nose of citrus, limes, light raspberries, spices, earth, vegetables and minerals.

Medium plus in body with medium plus acidity, crisp and refreshing.

Dry on the palate with raspberries, strawberries, cherries, limes, grapefruits, citrus, green apples, herbs, spices and white pepper.

Nice finish with spices and almonds.

This is a very enjoyable Rosé from Chalk Hill, Sonoma County. Fruit forward and refreshing with nice complexity.

Nicely balanced with a buttery mouthfeel. Better when properly chilled.

Good by itself or with food. I had it by the pool with soft cheeses.

A blend of 34% Grenache, 33% Syrah and 33% Mourvedre.

12.7% alcohol by volume.

A great little bottle of dolcetto. I’d say this actually elevated the grape over most Piedmont blends. There was a striking quality brought on by the carbonic maceration. Definitely recommend. — a month ago

Reserva Quatro Red Blend 2005

Must be in my cellar for like 12+ years.... Tried several times over the years, but only now it gets to a nice balanced point in maturity... At start it was mainly a very jammy fruitbomb. And that grew into a much more balanced Cab Sauvig, Carmenere, Syrah tasting wine. All sharp edges have gone, smooth and silky tanine. Just enough acids to keep it interesting, almost no sweets. Nice full herbs and spice flavours: cinamon, bay, licquorish over cheyy tones...
So the recommendation was to drink before 2010, and I'm happy I ignored that.

Barbie Freedom Hill Vineyard Pinot Blanc 2019

Classy stuff! Bone dry, reticent aroma, but med-full bodied texture and long, raspy, lingering finish. Reminds me of high end Alsatian Pinot Blanc and perfect foil for French/Viet Namese Fusion. Such a pure pleasure. Willamette whites are coming into their own and really rock in’! — 2 days ago

Centennial Blend 1991

The perfect year for California Cabernet , 2014! This is SanAntonio Centennial Red Blend. WOW. I may need a case of this. I would put this up against any 150 to 175 bottle of cab. And guess what? Its half that price. Right from the start you get an amazing distinctive cabernet grape in your mouth. But then there is the malbec and petit verdot and petite sarah kicking in. It also has a syrah grape blended in on the top. I love this wine!!!!!
The bouquet has lots of fresh blueberry pie fresh out of the oven baby! The palate hits very sudden with lots of those big flavorful dark fruits such as blackberry, dark currant, and ripe blueberries. Then comes the pepper and oak. Very Earthy on the mid palate. Hints of mineral rich soil finish it off. The finish is mildly dry and just perfect! Oh my, I need to order more of this before anyone else does. Maybe I should not post this rating... :-) - cheers!

Ontogeny Oakville Red Wine 2016

Time for a good #FridayCabernetfix. Here is a great one from Napa Valley.

Inky in color with a short purple rim.

Showing black fruits with cedar, earth, vanilla, licorice, tobacco, coke, chocolates, dark coffee, leather, spices and peppercorn.

Full bodied and smooth with medium acidity. Dry on the palate with nice balance and mouthfeel.

This is a delicious Bordeaux blend from Napa Valley. Complex and opulent, and might be too much for some.

Dark, rich and handsome. Very tasty now, although still young. Will be nice to revisit it in 10 years.
