Chateau Ste. Michelle

Columbia Valley Riesling 2022

Sweeter than the dry Riesling. Notes of green apple. Light bodied. I prefer the dry Riesling more. — 8 days ago

Dry Creek Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2019

Lovely, beautiful wine. Plums, cedar, black tea, herbs like tarragon, cherries, blackberry. The nose is wonderful to smell. Palate is so well balanced. More baking spice on the palate with a continued fresh herb and fruit. As it finish there’s a touch of fruit punch that comes through that I just love. It’s not sweet but like the essence of fruit punch. I need to buy more wines from this place. I always love them. — 3 months ago

Ridge Vineyards

Lytton Springs Dry Creek Valley Zinfandel Blend

Complex Zinfandel field blend, with nice interplay of flavors and textures—fruit, tannin, acid and earth, that evolves in the mouth. Perfumed and drinkable by itself. Fine example of Sonoma County Zin. Tasted the 2021 vintage at the winery. — an hour ago

Pewsey Vale Vineyard

Individual Vineyard Selection Eden Valley Dry Riesling 2017

See previous note in August 2022. Vines planted in 1961 in the Eden Valley. A fuller riper style than the usual Pewsey Vale - still finishing dry. Aromatics of Lemon and Lime. The terroir and the quality of the fruit showing through. Not a hint of TDN (Kerosene/Petrol) showing through. Could cellar for another 3 to 4 years if desired up to its 10th birthday. — 15 days ago

Alsace Riesling 2021

Pale, nearly clear gold color. Smells of flowers and minerals. Crisp, clean, lively, citrusy flavor. Dry. Almost seems bubbly. — 2 months ago

Unfiltered Dry Creek Valley Zinfandel 2015

Excellent Zin with a ton of blackberries and some of those Zin brambles. Fully integrated with a long smooth finish. Not sure if drinking this earlier would have made the fruits brighter but still overall a very special wine. — 9 days ago

Dr. Konstantin Frank

Finger Lakes Dry Riesling 2022

Another solid vintage of this benchmark FLX Riesling. Light golden color. Aromas and flavors of green apple, peaches, citrus and white flowers. (No distinct petrol note). Nice mineral touch on the finish. Vibrant acidity and nice length. Medium bodied. Fruit forward but delicate and bone dry. Solid. Thank you for sharing this one with us, Kevin Z! — 25 days ago

Château Pontet-Canet

Pauillac Red Bordeaux Blend 2008

Dark ruby in color with a short reddish rim.

Full bodied with medium plus acidity.

Dry on the palate with blackberries, black currants, cooked cherries, spices, oak, vanilla, licorice, chocolates, light earth, light vegetables, herbs, tobacco leaf and black pepper.

Medium finish with grippy tannins and raspberries.

This 15 year old, Fifth Growth Bordeaux, is still young and tight. Needs 5 to 10 years in the bottle to mature properly.

I gave it 90 minutes in the decanter, but it probably was not enough.

Robert Parker 96 points. Wine Spectator 92 points.

Showing nice complexity with a nice mouthfeel. Grippy and rich.

Definitely needs food at this point, like a big piece of steak.

A blend of 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot, 4% Cabernet Franc and 1% Petit Verdot.

13% alcohol by volume.

92 points.
