Bernier Zinyard Zinfandel 2016

This was a lab rat bottle from Casemates. Good enough to order more. Everything we expected from a Dry Creek Zin. — 8 days ago

Switchback Ridge

Peterson Family Vineyard Merlot 2011

Drinking beautifully right now. Absolutely singing with Allen Brothers filet mignon. While 2011 was not a great vintage, some outstanding winemakers with deft hands made less extracted, well balanced wines that are in a more European style. — 8 months ago

Switchback Ridge

Peterson Family Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon

Deep ruby in color with notes of casks, ripe raspberries, toasted coconut and shiitake mushrooms. Rich and deep through the mid-palate, structured without being heavy. Fresh cherry balanced with floral, pepper, herbal notes. Plush tannins with exceptional length at the finish! — 21 days ago

Abrente

Napa Valley Albariño 2013

Another hidden treasure...I know we should have popped it earlier... but this joint venture between Morgan Twain-Peterson from Bedrock and Michael Havens (first producer of New World Albariño) is still alive. Medium gold/yellow in the glass... perhaps not quite as vibrant acid-wise as at release, but very powerful and pleasant. Slightly waxy and round, sporting a bit of funk, but notes of unripe pear, green apple, and green papaya bring a smile. I don’t think this wine is currently made, but I always thought it a real QPR bargain. — 6 months ago
