Popped and poured; enjoyed over two days. Best on Day 2. The 2022 Carignane “Contra Costa County” pours a deep magenta with a near opaque core and an electric looking rim; medium viscosity with moderate staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is developing with a combination of tart and ripe black plums, black berries, licorice, soft baking spices, stony earth and minerals. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium tannins and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is medium and bright; energetic with lovely minerals. Lovely stuff. Drink now through 2032. — a month ago
Never had a Marlborough Pinot before. Was having duck, so Pinot an obvious choice. Loved this. Light, which is what I was after, and slight fruity. — a month ago
Dark ruby. Nose is mellow on first open. Palette is excellent. Deep stewed fruits, acid, and tannin coming through on the finish. Really like this — 18 days ago

Wonderful wine. One of my favorite vineyards. This is always a high quality wine. This one is still young but getting its legs. Vibrant and fresh if not yet rounded out. There is complexity that will only build. The length is good now but I know will be significantly longer in near term. Cherry. Fig. Eucalyptus. Loved this wine. Looking forward to sampling the next few I have over ensuing decade. — a month ago

grapefruit notes, citrusy, pineapple notes, smells fresh and fruity, light, not much of an aftertaste, one of the best i’ve tried so far this semester and i don’t typically like whites — a month ago
