Darker and richer in flavor than most merlots. Great finish. Nice acidic backbone, very nice. — 4 years ago
Loved it. Lush, bold flavors soft finish. — 5 years ago
Decanted 45 min though think it needs more time, very young wine. Very aromatic fruit when opening the bottle. Dark red fruit - black cherry and plum, raspberry; chocolate, coffee, graphite, pepper, plush tannins, well integrated acidity, high ABV but hides it well. Medium finish. Will be interesting to see this evolve over next few years in the cellar. — 5 years ago
Very elegant, silk, medium body, French oak, sexy and mature — 6 years ago
Started off strong and just got better with air. — 2 months ago
First meeting of monthly wine group and everyone came to play.
Nose: areomatics draw you in with ripe dark fruit, floral, forest floor, truffles. Taste: Elegant, silky, balanced wine with cherry, smoke, toast, earth, and a medium plus plum/cedar/chocolate finish. YUM!! — 5 months ago

Been a big fan of Nine Suns for years. This was first bottle of Realm’s Houyi vineyard I’ve tried from my cellar. I believe ‘13 was Realm’s first year with Houyi fruit. The nose is incredible. With an hour decant, the wine is silky and seductive. The fruit is perfectly matched by the tannins and acidity. Everything working together perfectly. The fruit is bold and black, lovely minerality. Just an incredible mouthfeel. Nice finish. Next time I have this ‘13 I’ll have to have it side by side with a Nine Suns ‘13. This is drinking fantastic right now. — 2 years ago

A wonderful bottle of 100% Syrah out of the South Okanagan Valley in BC. This is a flagship wine and vintage for Le Vieux Pin. A bold wine, yet supple tannins and an extremely smooth mouth feel. Exceptionally balanced. Aromas of violets; red and black berry fruit, with baking spice, and black pepper on the palette. A stunner! — 8 months ago
If you like this type of red this will be in your wheelhouse. — 5 years ago
2018 vintage. From the estate formerly known as Château Goubau (renamed 2016) and from the same family that brings you L’If and some wine called Le Pin. 95% Merlot. 5% Cab Franc. Really dark hue. Mint, blackberries, earth and tobacco in the nose. Medium-bodied with ample, silky tannins. The longer in the glass, the more white pepper and herbaceous flavors gain prominence. Nice QPR and will look to pick up more. Pretty now but just may be a stunner in a few years. — 5 years ago
By the glass with lunch, no formal notes. First time ever trying Khikhvi and I can imagine this is how wine was made 1000 years ago. Obviously extended skin contact with a copper salmon color. Funky fresh nose and complex on the palate with all sorts of interesting fruit and non-fruit things going on. Acid and tannin providing good structure. Certainly a change of pace and quite enjoyable actually. — 6 years ago
