Cayuga White 2016

On the Lawn at Tanglewood this evening with the Wynton Marsalis Quintet, with very special guest performance by the Ellis Marsalis Quintet. A very exciting show, this will be the second time we've seen father (Ellis) and son (Wynton) together on these grounds.

Clean nose of citrus skin and dry minerals. Green melon rind, under-ripe kiwi and light sweetness on the palate. Fun end of summer sipper. We've had a few FLX region Cayuga (lake) white blends, they always deliver a good value, even better when they are gifted bottles. 😁

Central Otago Pinot Noir 2015

Sam Neil purchased a vineyard in New Zealand with his Jurassic Park earnings in 1993 - the result is this fine Pinot Noir. I encountered it in London, UK oddly enough, where a statue of Jeff Goldblum was just erected near the Tower bridge. This is not a coincidence - “Life, uhh...” Wine finds a way. — 4 years ago
