Detroit. Living large with my boys.
On the nose this is complex. Comes across as rustic, with notes of graphite, cinnamon and cocoa powder. Palate is ethereal, as expected. Nice weight and balance. Somewhat dry mouthfeel with medium tannins. Mature cherries blend with moderate acidity. Finish is completed with cigar box. Food will help this wine. Drink or hold. Loving the moment…

A happy Father's Day....this wine should do
1.5 hour decant (fine/cloudy sediment). A fantastic inky dark purplish garnet color. On the nose: very aromatic nose with dark cherry, crushed stone, that sweet aged cab perfume, smoke, forest floor, little blackberry, minty pine, and slight funky earth. Taste: a creamy, soft, juicy full body wine with blackberry, cedar, smoke, dark cherry, black licorice, and a chocolate tar long finish complimented by the silky fine tannins. YUM!
What more can I say except as the farmer says at the end of the movie Babe......"That'll do pig. That'll do." — a day ago
Celebrating my 1️⃣0️⃣0️⃣0️⃣ wine!! It’s been fun learning so much about wine and meeting new friends beyond the app! I wanted to pick a really good wine for this milestone but I happened to have this one in my wine fridge and it meets the criteria I wanted for this post. It’s full bodied, fruit forward and has a smooth long finish. @Delectable Wine please add this wine to your list thanks! — 13 days ago
Nice nose of red and dark fruit. I pickup creme di casis, strawberries, chocolate, and oak. Taste is consistent with nose with good acidity and nice structure. Tannins are restrained. This is a nice enjoyable, fruit forward wine. About 30% Merlot, which is where I would bet the fruit comes in. Could be nice with a number of beef and heavier sauces pork dishes. — 3 days ago
Side by side against the Hunnicutt Brinkman (GIII fruit), Bevan’s blend was more fruit forward, a little richer and more dense. Raspberry and blackberry morphed into a darker, slightly earthy finish still with pronounced fruit. Less complex than the Hunnicutt but still a great bottle of wine. Really hard to go wrong with either one. — 17 days ago
Really nice blend. 48% cab sauv, 21% cab franc, 21% Syrah, 10% Malbec. Nose was blueberry, earth, pepper and a hint of vanilla. Smooth mid plate with a medium weight and good balance of fruit and acidity. Oak, blackberry and raspberry with pepper, spice and forest floor that lingered for a long time. Enjoyable. — 14 days ago
1.5 hour decant (little fine/cloudy sediment). A thrilling inky dark ruby red color. On the nose: red cherry, eucalyptus, plum, floral, dried herbs, sandalwood. Taste: smooth, juicy medium plus body wine with dark raspberry, bitter chocolate, cinnamon, black licorice, crushed rocks, and a long pepper minerally dry finish....YUM! Power and precision...ready to go years, but drinking well now with the decant — 9 days ago
