I do love this one. — 3 years ago
Great price at the LCBO and well worth it! Not dry and a pleasant glass. I finished the bottle in an evening. — 4 years ago
In 1865, Jean-Marie Mommessin founded winery. In 1889, Mommessin acquired La Grange Saint-Pierre, ancient buildings in Macon, originally belonged to Abbey of Cluny. Its key, the Key of St. Peter, became famous house emblem. Ruby color with aromas of dark berry fruit with notes of oak and floral. On the palate flavors of blackberry and currants with oak, floral, spice and earthy notes. Fine tannins, medium+ finish ending with fruit, oak and mineral character. — 3 months ago
2019 vintage. "Grand Cras" is one of the 6 subzones ("climats") in Morgon, the second biggest Beaujolais cru. Juicy cherry fruit and good structure of soft tannin. Drinking very well now, but should age well for a few years. Great value at 7 euros. Mommessin is part of the Boisset empire, and Jean-Charles Boisset is definitely focusing on quality. — 3 years ago

Trying this again. Has classy 60’s vibes in the label design. Smells nice. Red berry and orange peel. Yeah still love the flavors. Fleshy with blood orange, cherry and woodsy stuff. Balance and fresh. Lovely complexity for a lighter color and bit less brooding type of Frenchie. — a year ago

The Mommessin monster. I tend to only like this wine in “lighter” vintages where the heavy handed style gets balanced out. But 2018 shows impressive freshness, vibrancy and minerality to combat the warmth of 2018 wonderfully. But of course so so young. — a month ago
