Mission La Caminade

Cara Sur

Criolla Barreal Finca Maggio Uva Criolla Chica 2019

Delectable Wine

A Criolla Chica planted in Barreal, Calingasta, at 1,550 meters above sea level, up to 10% fermented in whole bunches. Terracotta in hue, it presents notes of strawberry, damp earth, herbs and traces of menthol as well as faint aromas of almond cookie and rum cake. Offers a complex mix of simple flavors; on the palate, the tannins are active with heightened freshness and a ruggedness that sticks to the gums, while the innate fruitiness comes out at the back of the throat. A great wine with a profile one rarely sees in reds on the local scene. (Joaquín Hidalgo, Vinous, October 2020) — 7 days ago

Black Star Farms

Arcturos Old Mission Peninsula Pinot Noir 2017

Cold climate Pinot similar to Finger Lakes. Quite fruity initially, settles into a more even experience with lots of air. October 2020. — 2 days ago

California Mission 2018

Didn’t know what to expect. Nice vibrant red fruits and good acid. Crushable red. Fun to try. — 14 days ago

Château La Mission Haut-Brion

La Chapelle de la Mission Haut-Brion Pessac-Léognan Red Bordeaux Blend 2000

Outstanding showing for a 2nd wine in a classic vintage. Red fruit and red flowers, cedar and cigar notes led a pure and concentrated beam of blueberry and multiple red fruit notes with some vanilla and black currant. Feminine, elegant. Fine tannins disappeared on long finish. — 4 days ago

better than previous Michigan wines I’ve had. Didn’t finish the bottle so will see how it is on day 2, but for day 1, I’ll give it a 9! Thanks to @ev for this one! — a month ago
