Anthill Farms

Anderson Valley Pinot Noir 2014

Fruit for this Pinot comes from two of the coolest, most coastal parts of this appellation, linked by the influence of the Pacific’s cool marine air, which delays ripening. Ruby with berry fruit, citrus and floral spice. On the palate, strawberry and cherry, tangy, with cedar notes and earthy tones. Bright acidity, soft expressive tannins, long finish ending with tobacco and woody spice. Very nice, drink now & over next 5 years. — a month ago

Marine Willamette Valley Chardonnay 2018

Seth’s new 2018 Marine Chardonnay is in blind tasting so Burgundian. I could drink this every day. Saline, seductive and more oxidative than reduced. Very good — 6 months ago

La lotte de mer Santa Barbara County Syrah 2018

Really ripe, pushing the border of what I like, but it stays on the right side of it. It has enough earthiness and acidity to provide balance. — 2 months ago

Nyetimber

Brut Rosé Champagne Blend

Delectable Wine
9.1

Disgorged in September 2019, the Brut Rosé is a blend of the three classic Champagne varieties from West Sussex and Hampshire with 9g/L dosage. It has a lovely bouquet of strawberry, white flowers and a subtle marine influence, perhaps a touch of shucked oyster shell. It is certainly the best defined of Nyetimber's recent releases. The palate is pretty and open with good acidity, that marine theme continuing on an edgy, saline finish that lingers. This is a slightly more cerebral take on sparkling rosé.
