Chartreuse Verte is my favorite digestif, so I felt it was due for a post.
The aroma is transportive. Like standing in a meadow of freshly cut grass and wild herbs in the summer. In your mouth, a silky progression of flavors unwind: the purest anise and sweet herbs, followed by a fierce bitter bite on the finish that balances the sweetness brilliantly.
I keep a bottle in the freezer and frequently enjoy a pour over a few cubes of ice. — 2 months ago
Brought to us by the kindly promoter of Musilac festival in Aix Les Bains, about 20 clicks from the Chartreuse monastery. And those monks have some time on their hands; it ain't no thing for them to shut some of this stuff away for 40 years and then be like, oh I wonder how that worked out? Well let me tell you it's sweet, then smooth, then bitter, and when you've had a sip the only thing you're thinking about is taking the next sip. Revelatory. — 5 years ago

That bottle! A seriously herbal and tasty French digestif that perfectly capped our dinner of raclette and fondue. #Megeve — 2 years ago
