Nothing phenomenal but a good clean representation of the region and the fruit.
Paired quite well with 🍣

Deep purple in color with a tiny purple rim.
Fruity nose of blackberries, sweet plums, cooked cherries, oak, light vanilla, tobacco leaf, earth, dark chocolates, black pepper and Mediterranean spices.
Full bodied with medium acidity and long legs.
Dry and fruity on the palate with currants, plums, cherries, sweet raspberries, spices, cedar, chocolates, tobacco leaf, licorice, herbs and peppercorn.
Long finish with fine grained tannins and tangy raspberries.
This is a delicious Petit Verdot from Lake County in California. Big, bold and spicy. Feels like a Napa Petite Sirah.
Nicely balanced with a nice mouthfeel and a teeth staining color.
The mix of black and red fruits is very interesting. Tangy and rich.
Good right out of the bottle and better with airtime. Drinking very nicely now, and will continue to age in the next 5 to 7 years.
Good by itself as a sipping wine, and good with food.
Organic Petit verdot grapes are grown at 2,200 feet of elevation on red volcanic soil. A tiny production of only 1,300 bottles.
15.1% alcohol by volume.
92 points.

Rustic, clean….ethereal! Ready for food challenges…acid is poised and candied (discretely) with fading finish. Very sophisticated given its straight fwd linear attack. Blackberry is note this soloist sings :) — 9 days ago
Popped and poured. The 2005 Cheval des Andes pours a deep opaque garnet/purple. Currently throwing some slight sediment. On the nose, the wine is vinous. Lovely black and blue fruits, teriyaki, balsamic, purple flowers, leather, and baking spices. The same on the palate. In total balance. The finish is long, dry with integrated tannins and good acid still. Long. This is really in a gorgeous spot right now. My only bottle of this and so happy I enjoyed it when I did. Enjoy now or over the next 5-10. No decant necessary. — 11 days ago
Fee-nominal…the winner (so far) of the 2010’s PV challenge. At 11.5 years from harvest, this beauty from Matthieu Finot sang like a concentrated Right Bank medoc…layers of dark berries, violet & herbs with smoky matting. Still proving enough tannic punch to cut through house grilled cheeseburgers and squash. Bold yet balance. Thank you Ellen for this wonderful gift :) — 3 days ago
Wonderful Napa cab. My initial decant was too short, but this was really special after some time in the glass. Somewhat grippy tannins that mellowed with time in the glass. I might wait a year or more before trying another one. Oh and yes, the Shake Shack was a great pairing. — 11 days ago

Whew came swimmin’ out this bouquet cause it is rich and enriching, cedar, clove, baking spices, forest floor, the spice of fresh velvet.
Only 16 cases were made and the little wine shop on Jones Street, Jones Street Wine, was nice enough to let me get my hands on one of their last bottles (1 of 5).

Mouthwateringly good. Nice balance of spice and acid to wake up the buds. Little to no bitterness. Punchy fruit punches through. And that wonderful clove essence throughout.
Few wines make me write longer notes, but when I find one that does, I can’t seem to stop talking about them.
Aight time to drink it though… — 7 days ago
