Brunello Montalcino Sangiovese 2015

Really nice and, I think, pretty close to peaking. More of a red-fruited Brunello, it’s got a complex nose of red fruit, cherry, warm brick, spices. In the mouth the texture is soft and enveloping and the red fruit is augmented with nice savory balsamic notes. Very nice near term Brunello. — 19 days ago

Indian Wells Columbia Valley Merlot 2016

It is time for some Merlot on this #MerlotThursday.

This 6 year old Merlot from Washington State is still drinking very nicely.

Dark ruby in color with a wide reddish /brick rim.

Full bodied with medium acidity.

Dry and very fruity on the palate with nice complexity, and soft tannins on the finish.

Showing blackberries, tobacco, chocolates, coffee, black pepper, dates, earth, cooked plums, raisins, figs and herbs.

Good right out of the bottle, and better with airtime.

Good by itself as a sipping wine. Very tasty and affordable. A good party wine too.

A blend of Merlot with a touch of Syrah.

14.5% alcohol by volume.

2009. Mint, eucalyptus, cedar dust, dried raspberry, orange peel, pomegranate, and sage. Showing some brick tinges but no flavor deterioration. Cinnamon, cedar and dried maduro, savory, cranberry and dusty raspberry, roobios tea, cracked pepper, cardamom, nutmeg and a tiny bit of blistered pepper.
Intense and silky; shifting strata of immense complexity.

Beautiful light brick-brown colour with pink reflections. First nose evolved on dried fruits, nuts, apricots, then notes evoking maple syrup, peach syrup, hazelnut. Light, creamy, deep, paradoxical fine as great wines know how to make us experience it. Remanent finish, to be tasted certainly once in a lifetime when you can as an aperitif, such as on desserts based on nuts, chocolate, apricots, or with a camembert with raw milk. Serve a little refreshed.

Belle robe brun-brique clair aux reflets rosés.. Premier nez évolué sur les fruits secs, noix, abricots, puis des notes évoquants le sirop d’érable, la pêche en sirop, la noisette. Fin léger, onctueux, profond, paradoxal comme les grands vins savent nous en faire faire l’expérience. Finale rémanente, à goûter assurément une fois dans sa vie quand on peut à l’apéritif, comme sur des desserts à base de noix, chocolat, abricot, ou encore avec un camembert au lait cru. Servir un peu rafraîchi.

2012 vintage from the Tenuta Nuova vineyard. Age is noticed in the color, brick garnet. On the nose, a powerful noticed aromas of matured fruit, dried soil, leather among others. After an hour the tanins are smooth, the mouthfeel is exceptional with long aftertaste. A serious wine. — 6 days ago

Spring Mountain District Pinot Noir 2010

Ruby in color with a wide reddish/brick rim.

Pretty nose of black currants, black cherries, raspberries, spices, light earth, light oak, wild flowers, tobacco leaf and black pepper.

Medium bodied and elegant with medium acidity.

Dry on the palate with cherries, sweet raspberries, earth, light oak, spices, tobacco leaf, dark chocolates and black pepper.

Long finish with very little tannins and sour cranberries.

This 12 year old Pinot Noir from Napa Valley is delicious now. Showing nice complexity with a soft mouthfeel.

Actually, it feels more like a Burgundy Pinot Noir. Interesting stuff.

Easy drinking and good right out of the bottle. Nicely balanced and good by itself.

This Single Vineyard Pinot Noir is peaking now. A great sipping wine.

I had the 2014 a year ago, and this is even better. Delicious wine.

100% Pinot Noir grapes were aged in French oak barrels for 18 months. Unfiltered and unfined.
