Les Amoureuses Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Pinot Noir 1988

Wine has a beautiful medium dark ruby red gaining some brick hue on the border. Has always been taut and muscular and somewhat variable. This bottle oozed with great fruit, spices and flowers, and was truly excellent. Tanins are pronounced but there is enough fruit here to outlast them. Was a great bottle and we thoroughly enjoyed it. — 15 days ago

Moulis en Médoc Red Bordeaux Blend 1985

Great to see how this classical claret holds well at 35 years. Very dark rubi color with a hint of brick on the sides, blackcurrant, black berries, steak tartare and peppers. Fresh, balanced, medium bodied, good length. Punches well above its weight and will trump anyone as a high class growth rather than cru bourgeois. Beautiful. Ready, but no rush. — 8 days ago
