On the nose blackberry, cocoa blueberry, and earth.
Flavors of blackberry, earth, tar, cocoa, and espresso. Tannins are firm, but in balance with the wine. Long finish, with black fruit and earth.

Our friend Christina brought this Paul Bara imported by Kermit Lynch. It’s 90% Pinot Noir and 10% Chardonnay from 35 year old vines.
The Bara family started producing Champagne in 1860 in Bouzy. Six generations of Baras have worked their Grand Cru terroir in the heart of the Montagne de Reims
This started on the palate as rich & reductive and then slipped into slightly more oxidation on the long set. Started with some nice citrus, pineapple, followed by some bruised apple & pear, nice mousse cream soda, touch of brioche, followed by pronounced limestone minerals that pressed the palate, tightly beaded, good acidity and finishes well providing you like some oxidation on the finish. However, while I enjoy that style from time to time, it’s always not my favorite...I lean more toward reductive styles.

Dark tawny center with amber color and clear rims. Barely translucent. Massive nose of tobacco and Cuban cigar with notes of sweet black fruit, moist dark soil, unsweetened chocolate, pencil lead, old cedar desk wood and a little barnyard. Great mouth feel and texture. Very much alive. Opened and slow-ox’d for a few hours, then put in a decanter an hour before. This powered up all night. Last sip was the best. I’ve probably had more LB than any other Bordeaux (young and old, mostly old), and this was head and shoulders better than any previous bottle. Great juice! — 18 days ago
2019 vintage. Celebrating 100 years of ownership by the Castéja family, and doing it in style as this is an extraordinary Lynch-Moussas. Classic Pauillac with ripe cassis and lead pencil with hints of cigar box and a subtle touch of mint. Full-bodied, but by no means heavy with uplifting acidity and well-tamed tannin. Long mineral finish.Classy and classic. Terrific value too. Abv. 14%. — 8 months ago
This is a steal. A uniquely oxidized wine without any apparent skin contact. Pale copper color with sherry like aromas of mealy yellow apple, syrupy canned peaches, and roasted chestnuts. Flavors of apricot, apple, peach, cantaloupe, and ripe pear. From Kermit Lynch, though I heard they recently severed ties. Get it while you can. — 4 years ago
Already ready to drink. Intense, Cabernet-driven Bordeaux, with deep black cherry and plum flavors. Powerful earthy nose. Superb value and a paragon of Pauillac. Great with Secret de Compostelle cheese. — 6 days ago
Had it next to a 86 Lynch Bages and held its own…. nuff said. Vibrant. — 5 months ago
Came with the Kermit Lynch sampler of whites. On the nose: peach and tangerine, bit of lychee. On the palate, apricots, apple (not just green but not sure what else), refreshing minerality. Nice on mid palate similar to the Peju, but more complex (not just lemon). Like this quite a bit. — 2 years ago

Fresh and inviting on the nose, with fruitiness and allure. Some dustiness over it all lends to the mystery.
So drinkable and fruity.
Delicious.
Good party wine and potentially a pairing bombshell. — 4 days ago
