Schulthauser Südtirol - Alto Adige Weißburgunder Pinot Bianco 2020

There‘s something unmistakable about the classical Pinot Bianco from Südtirol - that ripe pear on rye toast aroma, the cold minerality in the background, salty herbs, cold & austere ripeness. Full of dramatic contrasts.
On the palate ripe & juicy yet with the cold & austere minerality just behind. Pears, underripe apricots, a salty, herby, savoury, rocky flinty finish.
Lipsmacking good, year in year out!
Perfect summer grilling white!

Alto Adige Lagrein 2015

St Michael-Eppan Lagrein 2015: Medium-plus body. Bold fruit flavors. Plum & blackberry with subtle hints of tobacco & leather. For me, this wine had the right amount of acidity & tannins, hence making for a dry & smooth finish. It’s always great to enjoy Italian mountain wine when the weather is cold & crisp. Stay healthy & warm! Cheers🍷 — 6 months ago

St. Michael-Eppan Pagis Vernatsch Schiava 2017

Opens with a bit of reduction, Plums & more plums and a bit of cherry with a pinch of cinnamon & cloves and some damp, earthy undergrowth. On the palate this is surprisingly plush (for a Vernatsch) with soft plums and a bit of prune plus a herby, slightly bitter tang. Quite tannic yet juicy & nicely balanced.
A very nice one, in a riper, fuller style (again, for a Vernatsch).
