Rib Cover follow up. Brighter, riper fruits with mid Chinese five spice than the La Dome de Montrose.

Still better in 3-5 years. It will hold there with a slow decline over another 5 years.

Latricières-Chambertin Grand Cru Pinot Noir 2012

Rich & structured that needed some air to open showing dark cherry, earth, mineral & spice. Like most 12’s I have tried they will need more time in the cellar. — 19 days ago

Meaty, minty and peppery nose. Wow. So gamey and bloody. Pedal to the medal St. Joseph. Ultra traditional stuff here. Lots of olive and all on a serious granitic background. Palate is elegant and so refined but also has a wild side in that it’s super gamey, olivey and very supple and has good red berry sweetness. Really clean. These wines get cleaner every year without losing their feral edge. Very fine tannin. Also some youthful austerity. Needs air. I will be back. As this opens up exotic tea scents. Maybe oolong and Puer-eh. Great concentration and super silky and long. This is so good. 19 is also best vintage since 15. — 17 days ago

Domaine Faury

Vieilles Vignes Saint Joseph Syrah 2019

2019 vintage. Has lost some of the overt “biggie” youthfulness and sliding towards a more Burgundian body/mouthfeel. Nose and entry palate still abundant. Transitioning but still worthy and fantastic. 5.5.23. — a month ago

Vignes de l'Hospice Saint-Joseph Syrah 2019

Deep Ruby with aromas of ripe black fruits, toasty oak, floral spice. On the palate flavors of blackberry, plum and currants with floral spice, smoke, licorice and oak. Fine tannins, long finish ending with fruit, espresso, smoky spice and mineral character. Nice! Consistent! — 2 months ago

2nd time tasting the ‘18. Massive wine. Opulent. Tremendous depth of fruits. Enjoy now for its sheer power. I would not open mine for at least another 10 years. — a month ago

Domaine de Vaudon Chablis Chardonnay 2020

Entry level Chablis from Maison Joseph Drouhin but had great freshness and steely minerality. Hints of stone fruits and lemon with a lasting finish. Quality in a bottle. — 14 days ago
