Not my favorite Phelps Syrah. Not sure why…a bit rough around the edges…maybe older than I prefer???…I usually like this wine. — 18 days ago
This is excellent stuff and punches well above its weight. Floral and spicy nose with medium body, good fine tanins and lots of minerality / balance. Very dense and structured from the mid to the end, so it will benefit from 4 to 5 years in a good cellar. Great stuff and excellent QPR. — a month ago
Ripe, sweet wild red fruits and herbs, nice sweetness, a ton of black licorice, quite tannic. A lot of forest floor. Musty, meaty. There’s a quality here I appreciate but don’t feel is next level like others here... Still, this has a nice full body, good concentration and a lot of pleasure in the drinking. — 4 days ago
Sipping Fine Wine
Blend of 88% Cab Sauv, 5% Petit Verdot, 3% Merlot, 3% Malbec and 1% Cab Franc sourced from estate-owned vineyards, aged 24 months in 100% new French oak, their 40th vintage. Still tasting great, young and juicy, should easily last another couple of decades+ in the bottle. Deep Ruby, dark fruits, spice, complex nose. On the palate juicy rich berry fruits, vanilla oak. well structured harmonious wine. Fine soft rich tannins, long finish ending with fruit, tobacco and sweet earthy tones. Wow! — 7 days ago
