Intense Alsatian Pinot Noir, reminiscent of a great Burgundy, sourced from the Luft and Neuberg plots in the Bollenberg hill in Orschwihr. Red fruit, great structure, no rusticity. The 2015 is the last vintage they make. Starting in 2016, they made two single-vineyard wines from each of these 2 plots). — 4 days ago
Skin-contact Pinot Gris from the Neuberg vineyard in Buhl, northwest of Guebwiller in the Haut-Rhin (Alsace). Slightly cloudy, medium salmon color. Complex nose with aromas of candied orange, pink grapefruit and hints of red fruit and sweet spices. Round, medium bodied. Citrus flavors, good acidity. Long finish with grapefruit notes. — 2 days ago
What a phenomenal wine is this 2017 Zind-Humbrecht Riesling from the lieu-dit Clos Windsbuhl, tasted for the second time having first tried in 2019. Honey, orange marmalade, blood orange, hazelnut, burnt butter and a distinct smokey character grace the nose, with a touch of sea breeze alongside a very creamy note - v complex overall.
The palate is totally unique, quite full bodied, with bitter orange, pink grapefruit, zesty yet an incredibly supple texture with chalky minerality. High acidity, sure, but really quite an elegant mouthfeel that leads to a reasonably long finish. Incredibly drinkable. — 9 days ago
Good price at warehouse so I snagged one for wiener schnitzel dinner w/ cateloupe, prosciutto, radicchio &fig salad. Opened to give it a lot of air. Cream soda dum dum, Fuji apple, hint of gasoline but not a lot. Goes onto a grapefruit/citrus thing and a nice cream soda finish. Mineral and wonderfully acidic. Need to find older bottles! — 5 days ago
Drank over 2 days, nice fruit, spices and pepper notes on the nose and palate, fresh, savoury and medium to light intensity but with fine grained tannins, very nice and a good QPR. 89-90
Bu sur deux jours, du fruit, des épices et du poivre au nez comme en bouche, une bouche assez souple, savoureuse, très fraiche et des tannins aux grains fins d’intensité moyenne, belle découverte. 89-90 — 18 days ago
