A real solid $20 Chard, Barrel aged 10 months sur lie! Medium lemon color with aromas of stone and citrus fruits with notes of warm baking spice. On the palate ripe apple and lemon flavors with vanilla and nutty toasty oak. Well balanced on medium+ finish ending, a bit buttery with slight oak and mineral notes. A favorite!! — 12 days ago
It’s been a long day…couple of days actually. I’ve been lucky to get some buffalo loin and this beautiful wine from Colgin to pair. Deep dark fruits, dark chocolate and espresso. The winemaker describes the 2017 vintage as having a sense of clarity and purity, something we could all use a little more of these days. — 11 days ago
Tasted melon/Asian pear (notes said persimmon), more complex minerality, pairs well with cheese and food. — 9 days ago
Showed much better than previous note: inky, generous blackberry, mocha, tobacco leaf, black cherry, cassis on nose, with herbs & pepper accents - impressive complexity on the aromatics for sure… big fat mid-palate in need of sturdier tannins. Kinda fell over all the place, but in a delicious decadent way. — 2 days ago
Last bottle of this, and it’s always a great value. Even though it’s a Merlot-heavy blend, a bit of what seems like nice Cabernet character, with dark berries and cassis, cedar comes through. Great balance. Tannins very soft. I always buy too little of this. — 3 days ago
A very nice example of what the Finger Lakes region can do with Gewurztraminer. Floral on nose. Surprisingly full bodied. — a day ago

Dark brooding color, opaque with lighter rims. Tight nose, hard to get a read. Notes of red fruit and raspberries, kirsch, cola and some ash comes on later. Nicely made juice, it’s well balanced. While it opened up some over the night, it was tough to get a read on this. I could only come up with mid 90s Napa Cab. Still, this is a wine lover’s wine and our ribeyes went well with this and the other bottles tonight. — 22 days ago
