Rich and lush. Honeyed with confit lemon and a piercing intensity. Decent acidity. Pretty powerful.

Classic SH, these wines really take on a personality of their own, especially with age. This was all about the non-fruit and earthy notes for me, combined with the blocked malo style makes these zip well into their life. I did find this to be showing a little more oxidation than LBT, giving a slight imprint of fatigue on the wine. Dried apple, bruised pear, kiss of honey, apple blossoms, wet clay, mushrooms.

Take a step back in time in mike’s cellar. First time up to Stony Hill and we’re neighbors for goodness sake! Fell in love

(2/4) I believe in Zuni Claus! Stony Hill, what a beautiful California classic.

For the last couple years I've always been too busy working to go to bottlerock. So i started "side by side weekend" where I open up a couple different vintages of the same wine. Gives me something to look forward to everyday after sitting on highway 29 for an hour and a half just to get home

Still a young wine by Stony Hill standards and I see upside potential.

Well integrated oak and fruit, very well-balanced and just plain lovely.

Wow. Beautiful wine - had the '86 a few weeks ago but this current release (yet 7 years old) is amazingly powerful without the traditional Napa big chard flavors of butter and oak. Instead, you get a build of spices, preserved tropical fruit and great acidity.
