Susucaru Terre Siciliane Nerello Mascalese Rosato 2019

All kinds of delicious, somewhere on the spectrum between a rose and a light red. Cranberry, strawberry, rhubarb, crunchy leaves — 20 days ago

Susucaru Terre Siciliane Nerello Mascalese 2017

A hot vintage Susucaru with 14,5% ABV makes for a good BBQ companion. Dark cherry, earth, crushed rock, tannins that bite back. Not much has changed after two years in the cellar, will probably stand for another five, but there is no need if matched with fat, salt and big flavours. — 18 days ago

Reserve Lewis Vineyard Chardonnay 2018

A bit different from what I expected but super fun. There is a lot of malo and tropical fruits but this doesn’t seem like a butter bomb. (FYI I am not great at distinguishing oak levels, but I was asking the people I was with and they agreed with me that there is a lot of malo). For a biggish Chardonnay that’s not a butter bomb but has softness and great tropical fruits go for this! — 17 days ago

Munjebel (Classico) Rosso Nerello Mascalese 2019

Delectable Wine
9.2

The 2019 Nerello Mascalese Munjebel seduces with a rich and sweetly scented bouquet of crushed black cherries, dried roses and cloves. It’s silky in texture, enveloping all that it touches with ripe red fruits and spices, nicely framed by saturating minerality, as inner violet florals form toward the close. There are tannins here, but they don’t get in the way; instead, they create a perfectly dry platform where notes of lavender, plum and allspice hover above. The Munjebel is a blend of fruit from Frank Cornelissen’s vineyards across the northern valley of Etna. It aims to please, and it will excel at doing so through short-term cellaring. Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

Smooth and velvety. Mild tannins and just the tightest amount of oak. Had it with Jenn — 12 hours ago
