Cuvée Viticole. Medium body. Medium acidity. Medium, fine tannins. Red fruit, cherry. Juicy and balanced. Drinkable but depth. Still probably a bit young. — 2 years ago

An airy, effusive and downright beautiful wine is the 2018 Taganan from the Tenerife Envínate property of modernist Spanish winemakers Laura Ramos, Jose Martínez, Roberto Santana and Alfonso Torrente. Created from 100-200 year old vines on volcanic soils, it’s a delicate, restrained wine with a gorgeous, smoky bouquet of sour cherry, strawberries and Provençal herbs; the palate, meanwhile, is saturated with very fine tannins, almost imperceptible acidity and nice length. Served lightly chilled, this is an exciting wine which should gain further interest with age. — 15 days ago
