Le Mont Benoit Extra Brut Pinot Meunier Blend

2015 base year—been holding onto this one for a while. Showed very nice and with lots of life still left in the tank (wish I had another). — a month ago

Lieu dit La Dardouille Saint-Joseph Syrah 2021

Lyle Fass

Dark berries and glossy, granite and spice and herbs. Lighter than normal, juicy and accessible, wide open, juicy and playful yet serious. Lighter color than normal and truly amazing for the vintage. — 5 months ago

Saint-Joseph Marsanne Roussanne 2018

Lyle Fass

I love this wine. One of the best St. Jo Blancs. Nose is expansive and ripe with exotic tropical fruits and lots of gras. Also granite and lime jelly and liquified lemon jelly. Sea air as well. So clean. Palate is so finesse driven with awesome texture and depth. Energy from granite but definetly not for acid heads. Rich, long finish with tropical fruits and granite. Needs air. — a month ago

Haut Chardonnay Millésimé Extra Brut Champagne 2011

Huge wine...Sharp, chalky with time it becomes very rich and nutty. Fascinating stuff! — 3 years ago

Au Fil du Temps Crozes-Hermitage Syrah 2018

The heat and dry vintage evident in this massiv Crozes. Black, ripe, hedonistic fruit and smokey meatiness. Gave me an awful hangover but I couldn’t stop enjoying it with dinner. — 4 months ago

Echézeaux Grand Cru Pinot Noir 2005

Still needs to integrate but delicious. Still primary. Very young and it has all the right stuff. Come back in 20 more. — 5 months ago

Le Mont Benoit 1er Cru Extra Brut Champagne Blend 2018

Lots of complex aromatics that became even more expressive as the bottle warmed up. Some oxidative notes mixed with bread and flowers. In the mouth this leans to the vinous side. Acid driven which allows it to be consumed through out the meal. Just a hint of bitterness on the finish — 7 months ago
