Dutcher Crossing

Costello Vineyard Chardonnay 2017

Very delicious and multi dimensional chardonnay. Croissant, pineapple, pear, marshmallow, and lemon. Good acidity too. You have to like Chardonnay to like this wine. Not for the ABC crowd. — 18 days ago

Winemakers' Cellar Dry Creek Valley Chardonnay 2018

First thing: much earthier than I anticipated. Don’t get me wrong, there’s plenty of ripe fruit: lemon 🍋, pineapple 🍍, and apricot 🍑. But before the fruit, there’s smoky minerality 💨 and dried thyme 🌱 followed by hazelnut. 🌰

The Crossing GSM Grenache Blend 2015

A pretty color of dark ruby with a wide brick/ reddish rim.

Fruity nose with blueberries, red currants, cherries, sweet raspberries, oak, licorice, chocolates, tobacco, spices, earth, black pepper and light pencil lead.

Medium plus in body with medium acidity.

Dry on the palate with black currants, plums, cooked cherries, earth, oak, spices, licorice, dark coffee, pencil lead, tobacco leaf, herbs, light vinaigrette and black pepper.

Spicy finish with fine grained tannins and tangy raspberries.

This is a very interesting Rhone blend from Paso Robles. Elegant, spicy and good by itself or with food.

This 6 year old is peaking now with nice complexity and a soft mouth feel. An interesting wine, and very tasty.

I gave it one hour in a decanter to open up, and paired it with a Charcuterie board of meats and cheeses. Goes very nicely with the Prosciutto and the wild mashroom Brie cheese.

A blend of 44% Syrah, 34% Mourvedre and 22% Grenache. Aged for 19 Months in (30% New) French Oak barrels.

14.2% alcohol by volume.

91 points.

Tenuta Sette Ponti

Oreno Toscana Super Tuscan Blend 2018

Sette Ponti or "seven bridges," refers to 7 bridges crossing the Arno River on the road from Arezzo to Florence. Blend of 50% Merlot, 40% Cab Sauv & 10% Petit Verdot, aged 18 months in new French oak. Very dark Ruby with pronounced aromas of dark fruits, cigar box & earthy notes, touch of floral citrus. Flavors of black cherry & blackberry with tobacco & spice. Fine tight tannins, long finish ending with cacao, tobacco & mineral spice as the finish builds. Decant now! Will continue to age! — 5 days ago

Château Vieux Chantecaille

St. Émilion Red Bordeaux Blend 2016

From magnum. Nicely moderated Saint Emilion. Floral on the nose, violets. This has sweetish fruit and a sappy, savory finish, but manages to stay soft and harmonious, never crossing the line to heavy or cumbersome. Drinking fairly well, even from magnum. I like the restraint here. I could drink this quite often, not something I can say for many BDX. Very pretty. — 14 days ago

Ha'Shomer Marselan Reserve Marselan 2017

#kosherwineSunday

This is an interesting red wine from Israel. This Marselan grape is a crossing of Cabernet Sauvignon and Grenache, and it really tastes like it.

Showing black fruits with oak, earth, vegetables, spices, tobacco leaf, chocolates, coffee and peppercorn.

Dry on the palate with a short finish and round tannins.

Medium plus in body with medium acidity.

Needs a couple of hours to open up properly and remove some of the acidity.

Peaking now and will be good in the next few years.

Good by itself or with food. I paired it with cheeses, fresh fruits and vegetables.

100% Marselan grapes were aged in French oak barrels for 16 months. Kosher. Mevushal.

14.5% alcohol by volume.

89 points.
