Hay, gun powder, a bright lemon, a buttery note, toast, : a textbook côte de Beaune chardonnay nose. The palate is a model : a sheer and powerful acid backbone, a nice buttery touch on the sides, lemon and an oaky, toasty theme that plays along the acid backbone, a long lemony finish. Impressive: not as powerful and wide as most meursault I’ve had but more in a subtle, elegant manner. Much more my style. — 3 years ago

Unexpected sourness makes this an utter delight — 2 months ago
I am not a serious beer drinker, usually at the ball park or a barbecue. Curiosity gets the best of me and like wine I enjoy seeing what’s out there. Holy s#%t! This was insane. A very murky reddish brown liquid and a cream colored foam filled my glass. Yes that is a wine glass. Intense Port like aromas of dry figs and chestnuts along with cherries(?). Powerful flavors of toffee, coffee , chocolate and balsamic vinegar. Spot on balance of sweet and sour. I always thought Duchesse de Bourgogne was the most vinous beer I have ever tasted until now. Perhaps most amazingly the 13% alcohol was no where to be found. I realize others on Delectable have had beer like this but for me it was an epiphany. A totally polarizing beverage . I will definitely try other vintages to see what age creates. — 4 months ago
