Yum! Everything about this wine was so subtle. At first just nice red vibrant fruit with a bit of an edge. But it rapidly gained depth with earthy spice and gained complexity with each sip. It snuck up on me and by the time I was ready to declare that this was an awesome wine it was gone… 😥 — 2 months ago
A dark inky crimson in appearance. Nose a little muted initially - needed vigorous swirling even after decanting. On the palate rich black fruits from a ripe vintage - a touch of liquorice. Tasted blind my wife thought it was Australian. A full bodied Grenache based Red 70% (vines over 60 years old) 15% Syrah and 15% Mourvèdre. Finishing with slightly tarry granular tannins. An excellent dry red in a rustic style. 14.5% ABV. Leave the last one for a few years. — a month ago
Big QPR #sancerre - while less layered than fancier examples from the AOC, still that fine balance between crispness and more richness than you expect from #sauvignonblanc - I can envision this with a not-spicy crab fried rice. — 2 months ago
2018: Young but lots of inky purple fruit with good concentration. Tannins are well-integrated for such a young wine but will need time to become more than just fruit. Some mineral backing gives some hope for some more funky Rotie flavors but will take some years. $56? At VR. — 23 days ago
Uncomplicated joy in a bottle! Dark fruits, super light body an lactic notes like fresh yoghurt. A refreshing finish to a day of good work ... or an deserved ending to bad day ;-) — a month ago
Sweet and citrusy going great with shellfish — 2 months ago
Wonderful energy with saline minerality against a strong backbone of acidity that eventually opens up to stone fruit and a hint of smoke. Good stuff. — 2 months ago
