La Grande Côte Sancerre Sauvignon Blanc 2018

Holy cow, what a home run! This my friends its the taste of terroir. Dense and muscular, with a focused minerality that is keeping the beat.
Despite its youth it is very expressive and not holding back on its complexity. François Cotat La Grande Côte, a marvelous piece and an act in the magic of wine.
Pronounced intense aromas with a layered depth Lemon juice, kiwi, boxwood, dandelions almost reaching towards honey with a prominent Limestone mineraliy that is keeping the beat.
High piercing acidiy that cuts through the smooth and ripe edges. Dense and athletic on the mid palate with a layered complexity, salty backbone as it expands before closing up in a long tightening finish.

Vaillons Chablis 1er Cru Chardonnay 2002

Straw gold color. Worrisome, oxidative nose upon open. Decanted and let sit for 2 hours. The oxidation notes eventually blow off to reveal a rich and young Chablis. Notes of white stone, dry clay, apricot and kiwi fruit, and some white flowers. Rich, chewy and young in the mouth. Great mouth feel. Perfect with our take out sushi tonight. Still young in its life and should improve with 5-10 more years of age. — 4 days ago

takes a lot of willpower to bury these wines in cellar for 20 years but so rewarding.

Les Caillottes Sancerre Sauvignon Blanc 2019

4th of July treat. Needed 30 minutes of air. Full and textured with salted cantaloupe and honeydew melon. First Sancerre of this caliber that I’ve tasted. Great stuff. — 21 days ago

Poivre et Sol St. Joseph Syrah 2015

2015 vintage. The usual suspects in the nose with some violets and lavender in the follow-through. Plenty of white and black pepper in the lineup. Medium-bodied. A prettier Saint-Joseph. — 7 days ago

Touraine Sauvignon 2019

Bright, breezy and refreshing. Gooseberry, elderflower and some dusty licorice-like (‘salmiak’) minerality. Medium-bodied, soft fruit-like acidity.
A slamming value with its under 10€ pricetag!

Touraine Grolleau Blend Rose 2020

Nose has strawberry, red apple slice, red currant bunch, ripe cherry and dry earth.

Palate has cherry, raspberry, orange pith, red apple peel, light green herbs with a light tannic grip.

What a color! Nice wine, plenty of fruit to please most palates, decent finish; fun blend of grapes!

On the Lawn at Tanglewood this evening with the Boston Symphony Orchestra. For Opening Night our conductor Andris Nelsons is leading an all BEETHOVEN program (Overture to The Creatures of Prometheus, Piano Concerto No. 5 (Emperor) and Symphony No. 5) with one of our local treasures, Emanuel (Manny!) Ax on piano.

It's been a long time coming to get on the best manicured lawn in the Berkshires, 2020 saw a full withdrawal of the in-person season because of the pandemic. Now we're back with a very abbreviated season, limited capacity grounds and shed; we've returned, all celebrating the greatest orchestra in the world!

@Peter van den Besselaar Wonderful to hear the orchestra again.
@Vanessa We paid ~$13, I'd buy this again. This was a one of one bottle purchase, as I am likely to do when tasting new rosés.

@Severn Goodwin Wow, that sounds like a fantastic value! I’m going to track it down. Thank you for the great review and info!

Bourgogne Chardonnay 2018

Elegant and delightful regional Bourgogne Blanc with expressive white/yellow flower bouquet. Aromas of apricot, yellow peach and unripe pineapple with hint of honey, toasted nuts, and baking sweet spices rise from the glass. Bright acidity with white stone minerality. It’s a beautiful, well made Bourgogne Blanc! — a day ago
