Les Hérits Blaye Côtes de Bordeaux 2018

With Jancis Robinson’s 16/20, James Suckling’s 91 - and “drink or hold ” until 2022 recommendations, my choice was to uncork the bottle now and no regrets whatsoever - my best Blaye so far. — 15 days ago

Château Bel-Air Lagrave

Cru Bourgeois Moulis en Médoc Red Bordeaux Blend 1995

What a beauty. I bought this a few years ago at a bargain basement price and put it in the back of the cellar and forgot about it. I wish I had another one. This wine is gorgeous. A classic mature Bordeaux at its peak. This wine can easily stretch it out for another decade. Notes of cedar and tobacco — a month ago

Domaine du Jaugaret

St. Julien Red Bordeaux Blend 2006

High tone nose with a touch of va/ acetone. Translucent and almost no sediment in the bottle.. really old school a la Bel Air-Marquis D’Aligre. Palate is electric, very classically structured and fresh as a daisy. Nose takes a day to start showing floral and fruit notes and classic st Julien character. Very good, almost great; the aromatics never really soar. Bought at the domaine; Jaugaret is an organic and small production family winery (surrounded by mega châteaux). — 4 days ago

These guys march to their own drummer. Haven’t had (or seen) one in decades.
