Oh my goodness, heaven in the glass, so pretty, and earthy at the same time. The power it still carried was impressive but the finesse was like quarter sleeve gloves worn by a beautiful woman! I wish I could drink more of this, so delicious!

Nice acid gives it lift. Interesting foil to the 90.

1998: Very perfumed nose. Polished on the palate. Completely approachable yet with reserve depth to keep this vintage cellar worthy. Black cherries evolving into a rose petal and slightly tarry aspect, that really indicated the natural human footbridge that can carry Burgundy lovers into the land of Barolo, albeit with less of a nod toward acidity and it's weird cousin, volatile acidity. A burden to acquire, a pleasure to have shared.

Was prepared to be disappointed and came away very pleased. Initial impressions of cherry/strawberry with savory, woodsy elements with finely resolves tannins. Bright acidity frames the long finish. Over time, more mocha notes appeared , yet the wine remained compelling. For me, this was perfectly evolved.

Still needed time and air after an 8 hour decant. Slowly opened to show well.

Jammy alcohol a bit high at 14% almost no color loss oak vanilla in the nose ripe cherries juicy acidity slight tannic finish - the finish lasts and lasts and lasts - highly extracted almost over ripe
