Such an incredible Champagne from surely the the next grower to develop that cult following. Straddling Avize and Cramant, single vineyard BdB Chemin de Chalons, (also made by Jacques Selosse), is a stunning expression of the site and the iconic village of Avize. It’s incredibly elegant, pure and detailed with seductive aromatics, a chalky mineral core and an amazing pillowy mousse that fills the mouth and continues to stay with you, giving way to its long and racy finale. A favourite. This wine manages to contain all the lovely attributes of muscadet - mineral, lemon, apple, lactic taste - whilst keeping the pure fruit at the core but having a lovely sea freshness too. — a month ago
Easy drinking, had it with a curry, prob not the best pairing 🤔 — 8 months ago
Nose is so seductive. Wow. Violets. Meat, dark berry fruit. Unreal granite and just so expressive. I’m thrilled how great this is. Stunning. Raspberry spice cake. Just sick. 9.6 nose. Smells like God’s Jelly Donut. Palate is juicy, precise and lean. Wow is this slathered with minerals, but seems a bit closed initially. But man is poised, concentrated and slathered with gorgeous minerals. Long floral/berry infused finish. Let’s see how this develops but so fine now. — a year ago
This is a very easy and enjoyable wine. Fruity notes, wonderful French rosé — a year ago
Pale lemon color.
Aromas of toast and lemon.
Dry, flavors of fresh lemon and some minerality. Bubbles are soft and creamy. Great acidity.
