Clos Rousseau Santenay 1er Cru Pinot Noir 2023

Elegant and balanced beautifully, but way too young. Enjoyed this at St. Elmo Steakhouse in Indy. Beautiful just-ripe cherry fruit, a floral note, stony minerality. Very nice acids. Tannins very soft. This started to open up nicely by the end of the dinner. — a month ago

@Dave St Elmo’s is famous for their shrimp cocktail and super hot cocktail sauce. Not sure about anything else.

Ah! I looked at their website, and you are right about the shrimp cocktail! They do sell their own proprietary cherry vanilla bourbon, which is what I know them for 😂 @Brian Hearty

Les Vieilles Vignes Volnay Pinot Noir 2020

Bright ruby color. Aromas of red berry fruit, violets, wood smoke and wet soil. Flavors of red cherries and currants with additional notes of cooked mushrooms, baking spices and coffee. Medium bodied but a bit short on the mid-palate. Silky tannins and light acidity. Part of Kevin Zraly’s 2025 Red Burgundy Master Class. — 6 months ago

Les Vieilles Vignes Pommard Pinot Noir 2017

2017 vintage. Last tasted 9.29.25 (9.2). Decanted and tasted after 45 minutes and 1.5 hours. Solid and starting to improve throughout the experience. Was medium-medium heavy body but starting to thin out a little and closer to dead-center medium currently. Likely won't get the chance but feel like this score will creep up to 9.3 in the next 3-4 years. Not a huge jump but, given the $43.27 bottle cost/ resto price paid, fairly decent value for VV Pommard. 1.30.26. — 3 months ago
