My kind of super Tuscan- all native varietals. Natural blackberries & raspberries with both heft & balanced tartness on palate. Fine, grainy tannins. Impressive. — 3 years ago

A little more fruit forward, but really beautiful dark cherry and plum flavors. — a year ago
Peppery and medium bodied. A lush taste without being being sweet. A lot of cherries and then blackberries, to finish a bit tart. — 4 years ago

Welcome Ciliegiolo from Umbria- a unicorn varietal. Dark crimson color, crushed red fruits & cassis on nose; on palate medium plus acidity, medium body, a gorgeous texture- fine grained tannins, so some grip. Blackberries & black currant fruit. Really, really good. — 5 years ago

Bright, fruity, light — 3 years ago
Unpretentious, easy-drinking blend of Sangiovese and Ciliegiolo by Paolo Bea - benchmark producer of natural wines - and the nuns at the Cistercian monastery in Vitorchiano in Lazio (coenobium is the Latin for monastery). Fermented with wild yeasts. Pale, slightly cloudy cherry color. Red fruit (cherry, strawberry jam) aromas and flavors. Earthy and floral notes and a hint of tobacco and herbs. Fruit-forward, medium bodied, great acidity. Nice rusticity. Very pleasant — 5 years ago

Definitely lives up to the ciliegia in its name 🍒. Bright cherry, raspberry, with saline and mineral and a little graphite. Light tannins and nice, bright acids. Was a little surprised at the fruit in the first taste but it’s still pretty dry and I like it. Good chilled. From Town Center Wines, Eastham. — 6 years ago
Sipping Fine Wine
Badia a Coltibuono, or "The Abbey of good harvest," lies in the heart of the Chianti Classico area, between Florence and Siena. The Abbey is approximately 2000 years old. Blend of 90% Sangiovese; 10% Colorino, Canaiolo, & Ciliegiolo. Deep Ruby color, aromas of black fruit and earthy spice nose. On the palate flavors of blackberry and cherry with savory tannins, good balance, black pepper and cacao notes. Medium+ finish ending with earthy mineral notes. Good now. — 16 days ago
