No formal notes, dining with friends in a very good Chinese Restaurant on the Gold Coast. It might be a Premier Cru but Beaune is not Vosne Romanee. Lots of ripe cherry on the nose and palate. Quite sweet on the palate. Possibly drunk a little young and lacking in complexity but I don’t believe this will reach any great heights. — 10 days ago
Certainly one of the absolute best 1er crus in Chassagne, 2018 La Romanée from Dancer is superb tonight, of Grand Cru quality and particularly exceptional for the vintage. It’s bouquet is layered with ripe stone fruit, white flowers, toasted hazelnut and attractive reduction and its deeply concentrated palate has incredible vibrancy and lift, totally in focus and elegantly textured, giving way to a notably long mineral inflicted finish. Fantastic bottle. — 2 days ago
Light gold color, youthful appearance in the glass. Great CC nose with notes of citrus, ginger, reddish clay, wet stones and tan spice. Fruit still very present, matched against some fine-grained acidity. Awesome mouth feel. I know some of these can go south sooner rather than later, but this was right in the zone - youthful with plenty of energy. Great showing tonight. — 19 hours ago
Continuing to dip into 2016 white burg at the top level and continuing to be pleased. Surely one of the most coveted and iconic Ramonet plots, albeit young, 2016 Ruchottes is very impressive tonight, proving the frost laden growing season is becoming a year of terroir over vintage. At first perhaps eerily opulent, it continues to focus with air and flaunts an explosive bouquet of stone fruit, citrus oils, wet stones, white flowers and toasty oak with Ramonet spearmint that comes in after some aeration. The palate is expansive, dense and concentrated with an elegant texture and just enough citrusy acids to support its imposing richness. If I were to nitpick I’d like more length but this is a great bottle. — 9 days ago
Love this site. So finesse driven. An essence of Volnay type of site. Big, ripe and sappy red and black cherries that are so forward and so vivid. Stunning depth and freshness. Gorgeous earth and minerals. So nimble and pure. Red licorice. Love the controlled ripeness. Yes it’s ripe but yes it’s within the realm of being reasonably ripe and attractive. Palate is joyous. Nimble and elegant and shockingly pure and so ethereal. Sappy and sweet and so silky. Volnay defined. Lithe and elegant tannins and I swear this is the silkiest 2020 I’ve had yet. The purity of this is off the charts. I’m gobsmacked how great this is. I know this will go higher with air. Weightless wine with wonderful intensity. What a duo the 19 and 20. Now the nose has pumpkin spice and other spices. Spicecake vibe for sure. — 11 days ago
Nose is cherry lipstick. Elegant earth.
Palate is perfect cherry. Some mere hint of bitterness. So fresh. As it opens cherry licorice. Snap this is good.
Man this is fucking well made. 9.7 on that scale. Balance. Finesse. So great. You can serve this to a billionaire. If they get burgundy they will love it.

Wow! Couleur ne montre aucun signe de fatigue. Arômes fines d'agrumes, nectarines, fleurs blanches. Une bouche parfaite, finesse, fraîcheur, élégance, belle acidité, équilibre et classe, surtout une finale interminable. 95-96
Colour shows no sign of aging. Such a classy nose and wine, light citrus, white flowers too, such class, elegance and balance, so fresh and deep too, extremely long finish. — 2 days ago
Very enjoyable. Nose has vibrant, sappy dark cherry juice, a bit of sweet spice, and warm, crushed-rock infused minerality and a little teeny bit of cow pasture. Savory, with nice flavor concentration in the mouth, nice minerality and zingy acids at the tail end of the finish. Whispy tannins. So drinkable now, but will be better in 2-4. — 2 days ago
