Jacques Selosse

Initial Brut Blanc de Blancs Grand Cru Champagne Chardonnay

Wonderful nose, toasted almond, sherry, lemon, ripe pear. Oxidation is just right- not overwhelming, but adds to complexity and character. Slightly orange color, full bodied. Would love to know actual alcohol, label says 11-14%, but tears indicated higher alcohol, but very well balanced. Disgorged 14 November 2019. — 6 days ago

Château Lynch-Bages

Grand Cru Classé Pauillac Cabernet Sauvignon Blend 1995

1995 vintage. Nice fill. Cork good. Decanted and tasted immediately, after 15 mins and at the 2 hour mark. Threw less sed than expected. Vibrant color. Medium body. Pencil shavings and chocolate-covered blueberries nose and flavors segued to graphite, cedar closet and the ole L-B mint chocolate chip ice cream standard. Not improving but holding steady here for the next 4-6 years. Good stuff. 11.16.23. — 13 days ago

Egly-Ouriet

Brut Tradition Grand Cru Champagne Blend

NV. Crispy with bracing acidity. Zen-like, singular purpose. Like a perfectly weighted kitchen knife. Not for the masses or a larger party. 11.9.23. — 20 days ago

@Norman Gennaro Really nice stuff but would be disappointing for the uninitiated or unprepared. Def not MOR (middle of the road).

Mommessin

Clos de Tart Grand Cru Pinot Noir 2018

The Mommessin monster. I tend to only like this wine in “lighter” vintages where the heavy handed style gets balanced out. But 2018 shows impressive freshness, vibrancy and minerality to combat the warmth of 2018 wonderfully. But of course so so young. — 25 days ago

Château Grand-Puy-Lacoste

Pauillac Red Bordeaux Blend 2019

Deep Ruby with aromas of dark fruits, floral spice and cedar notes, blend of 83% Cabernet Sauvignon. On the palate flavors of blackberry, plum and black cherry with cacao, tobacco, licorice and spice. Fine grainy tight tannins, well balanced on long finish, ending with fruit, cedar and earthy mineral character. Very nice, will age well but wait a few more years to really enjoy! — 9 days ago
