Oak spice, but not a gloppy oak bomb. This is very lifted and refined. More Corton Charlemagne than California Chardonay. Elegant and racy. Great energy. — 10 years ago
Not a huge Chardonay fan but this was good. Very balanced — 10 years ago

Recently read George Taber's book about the 1976 Paris Tasting so I was dying to give Grgich chard a try. This was a lovely well balanced California Chardonay - which is a lot for me because usually they are way too lush for my taste. Subtle silky texture and with lemon, honey, and smokey vanilla flavors. A touch bit oakey for me on the finish , but I can imagine others really like that. Racy acidity and nice minerality that sometimes can be lacking in California whites. — 10 years ago
$33 Medium nose. Notes of honeydew melon, lime peel, peach, hint of baking spice and caramel. Very well balanced. Low alcohol, low tannins and low acid. Medium body. Smooth and buttery. Off-dry. Oak shines through. Notes of pear, apple, starfruit, lemon peel, and lime peel on the tongue. This is a pleasant, well balanced chardonay, with a clean oak finish. The oak is not overpowering, which is a relief considering it's a CA chardonnay. Worth it's price and worth another drink. — 4 years ago
Nose of flower garden with herbs in the corner. Pure, clean, balanced, fresh. Honeysuckle and agave nectar with a touch of vanilla from the oak. Worth the investment as comparable enjoyment from a chardonay would have to be in a higher price range. This is a super nice white. — 9 years ago
Much more expressive than 1 year ago. Nose was powerful and ripe with nice complexity. Palate was full with a nice backbone of acid. This is in great shape right now! #benjaminleroux #chassagnemontrachet #premieurcru #chardonay #burgundy #ctbucklinwine — 10 years ago
