Such a wonderful wine to enjoy on the weekend with friends. In Scouts Honor! Cheers!!! — 20 days ago
Charbono aka Bonarda or Douce Noir. This particular one is from Paso Robles AVA with notes of plum sauce, cherry, cardamom, fig paste, and graphite. Quite interesting to taste. Medium plus body and tannins with low acidity and alcohol. A smooth and flavorful wine. — 3 years ago
Opened last bottle this evening. Still structured but the tannins mellow and become less disjointed as it warms and aerates. Clove, cardamom, spicy black olive. A bit of tannic dustiness clouds the finish but let's pour a second glass and see what happens next. — 5 years ago
Great wine, but I don’t know which grapes are in here. A little too sweet for my palate (candy) but I appreciate the quality. — 11 days ago
This is a blend, nothing less from Prisoner: Cab with Merlot, Syrah, Malbec, Petite Sirah and splash of Charbono, aged for 15 months in French and American oak (55% new). Deep Ruby with aromas of dark berry fruits, cedar and sweet spice. On the palate flavors of black cherry and blackberry with notes of vanilla, oak and cinnamon. Fine tannins, long finish, lively acidity, nice mouthfeel ending with fruit and spice. Nice! — 5 months ago
Bonarda also known as charbono. Just enough age on it at 8yr. Saddleback, cranberry, stewed raspberry. Hint of sassafras. Good acidity. — 3 years ago
"Edgy and full of flavour, the Prisoner is a bold red meant for indulging. On the nose, expect a bursting bouquet of bing cherries, dark chocolate, clove and roasted fig, followed by juicy ripe fruit flavours. Notes of raspberry and boysenberry with hints of pomegranate give way to a lingering taste of warm vanilla on the palate. A long, smooth finish lingers in your mouth. " — 7 months ago

Another classic casual drinking wine. Lighter red, well balanced, dark fruits with a bright finish — 19 days ago
