The 2021 Lions de Suduiraut Blanc Sec is rich, creamy, expressive and exquisite in its balance of textural richness and freshness. Orchard fruit, white flowers, mint, lemon oil and chamomile envelop the palate, while bright floral accents perk up the finish. $25.00 (Antonio Galloni, Vinous, May 2022) — 2 years ago
Wonderful complexity on the nose - lime leaf/rind, tangerine, lychee, guava - tropical fruit salad with dollops of honey. Tastes like jolly ranchers coated with marmalade. Would love a touch more acidity to balance out the unctuous sticky sweet goodness of this nectar! — 3 months ago
2011 vintage at Signature restaurant; very thick and rustic Sauternes that paired well with cheesecake. — 6 months ago

Chateau Suduiraut - Vieilles Vignes Blanc sec — 8 months ago
NOSE: peach, papaya, candied apple, mild pineapple - ‘Nilla wafer, waffle, cane sugar.
TASTE: super sweet - straight up cane sugar - cookies and some bitter pineapple…plus green pepper?
Good, but clearly second label. I think more years might help…but it’s 10 years old already. 90 - just barely. Very different than than the first bottle I tried. — 6 months ago

Closed fruity/ mineral nose. Palate at first closed, even dilute; then stronger white fruit, good acid, sturdy minerals; improves after an hour. Then fruit (citrus/ stone fruit/ star fruit) and saline minerals; finishes with star fruit, a bit of oak, a hint of anise. Might expect more development in a few years. — 9 months ago

NOSE: coconut cream, custard, nilla wafers, grilled pineapple, a little mango. Smells like typical aged Suduiraut!
TASTE: the vanilla cookie is strong with this one - plus tres leches. 93.
Sauternes is one of my preferred pairings with pumpkin pie and whipped cream. HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!! — 18 days ago
