Nose: dark ripe fruits. Fig. Slight cocoa. Palate: the same. Fig. Plum. Lovely acidity. Fresh. This wine held up very well. — 7 days ago
Birth year vintages are a roll of the dice but luckily I landed on a pretty solid classic - 1978. So for my birthday this year, we opened an LLC and wow was this perfect. The sommelier was surgical in removing the cork which split in half but he managed to extract it. The nose on this wine was a 10 - loads of cassis, licorice, dusty library and leather. Palate was extracted cassis, leather and great acidity and liveliness, just like my 44 year old self. It’s just pure magic when bottles this old perform - happy Friday everyone. — 7 months ago

Hard to beat this wine in this setting! Courtyard dining at TFL. October 2020 disgorgement is utter perfection with an ultra complex aromatic profile and chiseled palate with riveting energy and a seamlessly balanced expression of layered rich red berry fruit and chalky minerality. VO base with a touch of still Pinot from Francis Egly. Magic every time. — 6 days ago
Bright, tart with notes of dried apricot and a mild saline finish. — 7 months ago
Holy cow, what a home run! This my friends its the taste of terroir. Dense and muscular, with a focused minerality that is keeping the beat.
Despite its youth it is very expressive and not holding back on its complexity. François Cotat La Grande Côte, a marvelous piece and an act in the magic of wine.
Pronounced intense aromas with a layered depth Lemon juice, kiwi, boxwood, dandelions almost reaching towards honey with a prominent Limestone mineraliy that is keeping the beat.
High piercing acidiy that cuts through the smooth and ripe edges. Dense and athletic on the mid palate with a layered complexity, salty backbone as it expands before closing up in a long tightening finish. — a year ago
I haven’t had a nice Bordeaux in a while but i typically cruise the affordable side, hoping for gems. This was a pleasant surprise. Some wood and perfume on the nose. Dark fruit, I saw someone said cassis and I can go with that - full body but with some brightness and good structure. Noticeable but integrated tannins… I’m in a good state of mind and this is brining a swell of life appreciation - can’t prove that’s on account of this exact wine but that’s the black magic of it all, eh? — 2 months ago
Delicious on our balcony at the William Vale with my one drink a week! — 2 years ago
