Another top-notch Garagiste Chianti Classico, this time a Riserva. Nose shows loads of that iron-iodine laced gravel/soil notes, with deep, slightly dried cherry underneath. So soft in the mouth. Loads of flavor but in a medium-weight package. Iodine/mineral flavors cking like crazy, almost getting the dark, dark cherry fruit to tap out. Acids are a little lower than I would have expected. Still some tannin present, but it’s pretty soft. Will certainly improve over the next couple of years. — 8 months ago
Year in, year out, this private label (which, the last several years, bottles wine made by Casa Emma), is a terrific value in a high-performing weekday wine. This new iteration is dark-colored, and sports a nose of raspberry coulis, dark florals, a bit of gravel, and vanilla. In the mouth, it’s dry and has pretty good flavor concentration, with good acids and still some youthfully vigorous tannin to shed. Medium-length finish. Probably better in a year or so, but nice now too. — a year ago
@Delectable Wine This is the 2016 Ca’ Rozzeria Barbaresco “Single Vineyard - Nieve.”
This is Garagiste’s private label for “mystery” wines of excess inventory from actual good wineries. No clue who the actual producer of this beauty is, but damn! This is sooooo classic and packed. Color is old school in that it’s relatively pale, not saturated at all. Fragrant ripe rich macerated cherry on the nose, with spice, dried rose petals, crushed rocky gravel, rich mahogany furniture scents. So deeply fragrant. On the palate it’s deep and structured. Drinking well now but will last years. Both weighty and a bit austere, with great transparency. Deep flavors of dried cherry extract. Loads of powerful but fine grained tannin. Great acids and very nice length. I absolutely love this. — 8 months ago
Tasting great. Tannins are very integrated. Maraschino cherry, dust, dried flowers, some wood paneled tobacco room, more dried flowers, great with Italian sausage and pasta. So glad I purchased these when I did. — 2 months ago

In a perfect spot for loving a perfectly aged Anderson Valley PN...
