Year in, year out, this private label (which, the last several years, bottles wine made by Casa Emma), is a terrific value in a high-performing weekday wine. This new iteration is dark-colored, and sports a nose of raspberry coulis, dark florals, a bit of gravel, and vanilla. In the mouth, it’s dry and has pretty good flavor concentration, with good acids and still some youthfully vigorous tannin to shed. Medium-length finish. Probably better in a year or so, but nice now too.

Lovely berry fruit nicely framed by some French oak, some pleasant earthy notes as well, nicely balanced with very good acidity, long, lingering finish with just a touch of tannic grip, these Ca Rozzeria wines are always well-done and great bargains!!

Another lovely Ca Rozzeria Chianti Classico, this one doesn’t show the effusive berry/cherry fruit of the outstanding 2018, this is very good, but not great like the 2018, another compelling bargain at its sub-$14 price point!
