Bluejacket Crossing

Delectus Winery

Bear Crossing Knight Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2009

Had this a while ago. Don’t recall the details except that (a) it was excellent and in a great place for drinking right now, and (b) it exhibited more depth than the Boulder Falls (which is the next posting - which was also good). — 3 days ago

St. Anne's Crossing

Reserve Rowe Vineyard Zinfandel 2016

For a four year old wine, this is still quite robust almost rambunctious. The oak isn’t subtle either. This is a pretty dry Zinfandel and would pair well with steak or prime rib. We have another bottle that I will definitely lay down for a few more years before I enjoy it. — 2 months ago

Dutcher Crossing

Proprietor's Reserve Dry Creek Valley Zinfandel 2008

Exquisite. Remembering (fondly!) our visit to the winery in 2008. — 2 months ago

Santa Barbara Crossing

Santa Barbara County Pinot Noir 2018

An easy California Pinot Noir, typical of the central coast: bright, fruity, and mild enough to complement a range of food. — 6 days ago

Delectus

Boulder Falls Cabernet Sauvignon 2009

Tasted right after finishing the 2009 Bear Crossing. This was also excellent and drinking well. An interesting comparison between the two. While the Bear Crossing had more depth, this one had greater breadth to the palate. Could be that this is ultimately a slightly better wine than the Bear Crossing and that it will gain some more weight in the next couple of years. Doesn’t much matter to me, though, since these were the only bottles of these two wines that I had in the cellar. Both excellent wines, though. Enjoy! — 3 days ago

Theopolis Vineyards

Yorkville Highlands Symphony 2015

I was so very into this—as I have been everything I’ve tried from Theopolis! Did you know Symphony was a grape? Me neither. I wasn’t sure if a crossing of Muscat of Alexandria and Grenache Gris would be my cup of...well, wine, but in the hands of Theodora Lee it absolutely is. Silly, balanced, it is an elegant bouquet of flowers neither over nor underdone. Just right. And a welcome change of pace! One of those wines that makes me anxious to meet the winemaker because all Theopolis’ wines have an idiosyncrasy that is undefinable and intriguing. And scrumptious. — 3 months ago

@Paul T- Huntington Beach first time I tried Theopolis was at a tasting of the San Francisco Wine Competition winners that came through Los Angeles. This I ordered straight from the winery website
