Cannot go wrong with this one… — 6 months ago
Opaque dark purple color. This wine took a while to open up. Not that great right out of the bottle but this wine developed with some air. Aromas were very savory and organic. (Violets, cedar, bramble and just a hint of blackberry). Blueberry , Blackberry and dark plum fruit flavors evolved with time. Not the fruit bomb I was expecting. Nice hint of smokey oak on the finish. — 2 years ago
Rich dark fruits, very concentrated, but not overripe in any way, much more structured than the 2022 Tooborac, this is from the Estate vineyard planted by Simon’s grandfather in 1955, long, lingering finish, enormous potential, really a fantastic old vine Shiraz that I just wish I could get in the U.S.!!! — 18 days ago
Mild fragrance of flowers and berries. Slight acidity, but enough punch. Will definitely hold up to burgers tonight! — 2 years ago
Marsanne. Very interesting and unique. Rich — 4 years ago
A case of infanticide drinking this beautiful wine from Heathcote so early in its 15 to 20 year life. Generously shouted by friends at a French bistro in Melbourne. Brief notes. Trademark earthy and mineral notes with red fruits on nose and palate. Typically 15% ABV. 93 points for now but will develop to 95 plus. — 9 months ago
The first thing I tasted was salt, and that was: uh oh. But after 20 minutes, cranberry, nutmeg, a little mint, raspberry, definitely not as meaty as other Aussie Shiraz and not what I expected, but very enjoyable once my expectations were reset. — 3 years ago
