Does not have the energy and the range of the 2010 and the completeness of the 2016. It does not have the magic of Bartolo, the class of Oddero, and the clarity and transparency of Roagna, but if you delight in delicate refinement, there is nothing like Cavalotto. — 13 days ago

Rosae Langhe DOC Ruché 2018

Darker colour than the 2018 Langhe Nebbiolo tried earlier in the week. A little more rustic and less expressive on the palate but remains true to Piedemont with rose and cherry flavours and appealing texture. New grape variety for me which is interesting. Lower price point so accessible entry to the Rinaldi style which I’m currently thinking is similar to Bartolo but a less little less savoury. — 3 months ago

Btl 3519. 2 hrs slow ox. On the nose: heavenly delicate black cherry, blood orange and a hint of VA, giving a little bit of gloss. On the palate: fatastic acidity, and so elegant: black cherry, orange peel, lovely density, so lithe...soft tannin on the sexy finish. — 2 days ago

Langhe Nebbiolo 2018

Nose of rose pedals, ripe almost candied cherries, leather, and red licorice. On the palate it opens up with red fruit reduction but it still retains acidity and soft but noticable tannins on the finish. Some hints of sweet spices like cinnamon and nutmeg are in there as well. ETOH warmth lingers.

Kind of a crazy wine. Kudos to the winemaker for producing a ripe, almost opulent wine that still has elegance and structure.

Langhe Freisa 2015

In the glass, a touch hazy. On the nose, remarkable bright red fruits and tar. The bouquet is deeply layered but not really easy to pull everything out in the context of the meal. On the palate, crunchy red fruits and a touch frizzante that dissipates. After some air, roses join the massive aromatic theater of this wine. Utterly fresh and with quite substantial structure! A lovely Freisa and likely the best I’ve ever encountered. Bravissimo! — 2 months ago

Dolcetto d'Alba 2018

Nice saturated red, fairly transparent. This is a among the best dolcetto I’ve tried, just behind Bartolo. Lovely texture, nothing forced and nicely in balance. 12.5% abv so nicely moderate. Touch of bramble and a slightly spicey grip at the back end. — 3 months ago
