Au Bon Climat

Santa Barbara County Pinot Noir 2021

Deep pink color; pomegranate, raspberries and grape stems on the nose; high acidity; smooth tannins; tastes like sour cherries and cranberries with a long finish. Went really well with a creamy pasta sauce. — 19 days ago

Lieu Dit

Santa Maria Valley Melon de Bourgogne 2022

Very much digging the 2022 vintage, which I heard is the last. Lemons and crushed shells, with a sweet citrus finish. — 9 days ago

Colson Canyon Vineyard Syrah 2013

PnP. Dark red and purple color. Rustic nose with olives and plums. Sweet cherries, prunes, and olives on the palate. Super big, deep wine. Medium plus finish. Not really my style but pretty good. — 22 days ago

WowZa! This is a beautiful wine, almost savory. Delicious food wine, would be great with burgers or possibly steak. — a month ago

Belle Glos

Las Alturas Vineyard Pinot Noir 2020

‘Las Alturas' Spanish for 'the heights', a fitting name, this vineyard located on one of the highest grape-growing benches in the Santa Lucia Highlands AVA. 4th gen Winemaker Joseph J. Wagner from family with farming & winemaking roots in Napa since 1906. Met Joe several times. Deep Ruby (darkest Pinot I have come across). Nice berry and floral spice aromas. Rich cherry/plum flavors with oak, spice and vanilla. Long finish, bold ending with sweet oak notes. Nice! A Fav! — 14 days ago

Monte Bello Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon Blend 2010

Another stellar showing. So enjoyed the bottle a few weeks ago I could not resist another dip in the pool. Opened beautifully throughout the night. This producer and wine is one of my favorites so it just synchs with me but I think it’s a vibrant new world take on Bordeaux. Lots always going on in the glass but there is a brightness that makes it a bit livelier and it’s such a blissful harmony between it all. — 22 days ago
