First try of an interesting Corsican wine from K. Lynch. 35% Niellucciu, 30% Grenache, 15% Sciaccarellu, 15% Syrah, 5% Mourvèdre, anything else left? Practically screams fun from nose through palate to finish, red fruited and lively at seven years in bottle. Great with Evan’s ribs. — 7 months ago
Good fruit and freshness, high tannin. — 3 months ago
Take us to Corsica!!
We’re prepping for an upcoming class with this beauty, which comes from the southern tip of Corsica (the most southerly wine region of France 🇫🇷 ); an appellation called Corse Figari AOC.
The vineyards are farmed biodynamically (certified since 2006) and are situated on a plateau at the base of the Omu di Cagna mountain ⛰️, not far from dramatic Bonifacio cliffs rising up from the azure blue waters of the Mediterranean.
It’s made with Vermentinu (aka Rolle or Vermentino) by Clos Canarelli, devoted to producing high quality terroir-driven wines made with indigenous varieties.
This wine offers a bouquet of lemon and orange peel, white peach, crisp green apple, just-ripe pineapple, honeydew, citrus blossom, elderflower, crushed stone, arugula, and custard.
It is both vibrant and rich with a creamy mouthfeel and layered complexity. It’s absolutely delicious and we cannot wait to share it next month. — 4 months ago
A fun one. Lots of herbal notes, black pepper, and lemon. Medium acidity. Great by the pool in the shade. — 6 months ago
Just lovely citrus white wine. Not an orange wine at all, but instead, gold in color with just a hint of citrus or citric acid. A crisp acid finish. Delicious and perfect with chicken tacos. Unique and worth tasting Biancu Gentile blend. Buy it if you can find it. As fresh as if it were made last year despite a needed 12 years of age. — 8 months ago
