2001 Sandord 'La Rinconada' Santa Rita Hills Pinot. It's a big one. Dark cherry, plum and cassis plus graphite, truffle and sweet vanilla. This is honestly more reminiscent of a Bordeaux varietal wine. It's so robust and lacks the elegance I expect with Pinot. Pretty soft finish. I should have saved it longer perhaps. #wine#pinot#santabarbara#california#sommelier#sommelier#sommelier #somm

The Sta Rita OG-- and a gorgeous expression- bing cherry, ripe pomegranate, Christmas orange, a nose that gives me shivers it's so inviting! A grassy mossiness with hints of bacon fat and white pepper. Fruit is tart red with candied rhubarb and orange zest on the palate, vanilla bean, juicy acidity, and a dusting of cocoa powder. Never had Sta Rita this balanced, even at elevated alcohol.
