I’m not that into this one. It HAS TO BE ICONIC. But Iconic leads to over extracted over sexed over. Just lacking finesse. Lacking intrigue. Don’t get me wrong. It’s delicious and I don’t mind drinking it and can age in the bottle but it’s missing it’s MOJO. #petitesirah #alicantebouschet #zinfandel and #carignane #sonoma #sonomacounty

Yesterday it was a bit one-dimensional, but tonight it’s more nuanced and subtle. Nose has cassis and dark blackberry ooze, along with nice graphite and loamy notes. Soft and balanced, it’s not complex but still has a sense of elegance. Bottle age has benefitted this wine.

Deeply earthy nose, but it's of the clean gravelly type. It's integrated with dark berry fruit. A little hint of dark chocolate (which is not my fave but whatever). Rich and dry in the mouth. Not jammy at all. Very nice balance.

Just found this in my cellar. Drinking very nice. Still has some nice fruit with tannins that are still a little grippy.

An elegant, fragrant, poised wine. Subtly perfumey scents of mixed dark ripe berry containers and wet stream stones. Intense but not jammy, with linear clingy Rhone-like flavors of iodiney/minerally notes with dark blackberry. Good acidity too. Really fine.

Still has a long life ahead of it. Year 2010 - direct from the bottling line and bottle aged at home. Brooding dark fruit with girth. Needs more time to reveal itself. Tasted Nov 2014.

Inky beast. This thing will stand up to anything in your cellar or in your kitchen.

Annual favorite, only 3 years left. Smooth and bold. Decanted about an hour. Heavy sediment. Love it, but also sad to see it go

Ravenswood ‘Icon’ Mixed Blacks Sonoma County 2008: Full-bodied. Nicely integrated tannins. Noticeable acidity with a dark, dense taste. Notes of blackberry, blueberry, dark cherry & other dark fruits, tobacco & oak. Long smooth finish. Made from four distinct varieties, Zinfandel, Petite Sirah, Carignane & Alicante Bouschet, this Sonoma County ancient vines wine was one to sip, savor & remember. Perfectly balanced & still showing great fruit after 15 years. Hope I can age just well! Great day to all! Cheers🍷

OG field blend from Ravenswood. Smooth, deep, dark, brambly goodness. Perfect burger for Susan’s famous Sunday Smash Burger. I love the depth, the richness w/o high alcohol and the dark black finish that goes on and on.
