Ultradition Brut Champagne Blend

I’ve had quite a few Laherte Freres champagnes (love the Les Grande Crayeres and the Les Beaudiers rosé), but just recently finally tried this Ultradition. Disgorged 6/2020.

As expected due to Aurelien’s love of the varietal, this is 60 meunier, 30 Chardonnay and 10 Pinot noir. 40% reserves utilized, and 6-8g dosage. For me, meunier has this distinct “gummy” note…like fruit snacks, and plenty of apple. Pours bright yellow in the glass. Aromas of apple crumble pie, golden delicious apple, hint of yeast, and grilled lemon. Rich on the palate but not overly so. Cardamom, more baked apple, honey and limestone at the finish. A little bit here for everyone.

Nice medium dosage brut with loads of flavor. Mag became lees-y and rich as we approached the finish and it warmed. Mineral and lime interplay was superb. Gorgeous golden Buddha hand zest, pith menagerie, and a tangy white berry. .

Apple, gooseberry, key lime. Solid.

Crisp mouthfilling notes of fresh raspberries, spices, fresh pear and honey

Bone dry, some apple and flowers. Least favorite of the evening.

I think this is non-malo? Very crisp and acid driven, red fruited Pinot influence and tangy lemon curd Chard notes both come through
