Lower alcohol than past years; better balance, less VA...and better for it. Fine, dusty and rare beef-bloody with an attractive, resinous top note. This should be a real treat in 3-4 years. #isoleeolena #chianticlassico

Tack room, raspberry, roses. Typical lifted Isole style, with just the tiniest touch of va. The best Classico of the vintage? #isoleeolena #sangiovese #chianticlassico

Not the best vintage of this wine but it's always a pleasure

First off, I've really missed Tuscan reds. Wow. And this one is no exception. Fruit forward with red and black fruits smacking you upside the head. But a beautiful complex finish rises from behind the fruit. My only problem with this wine? The nose has ever so little funk on it. Just doesn't quite match the brilliance of the flavors.

This is one of the best values in a very long time. Savory, saline, dried cherry. Intense flavors, tart balance.

Vintage 2015 / Still closed in smell. Refinement in taste. Perhaps I should have given it more air.
