Riserva Morellino di Scansano Sangiovese

Delightful find. Delicious.

Solid.

Nose - savoury scents of dried fig, macerated cherry, fresh tobacco, and flecks of vanilla

Palate - good concentration, ample fine grained tannins, lots of acidity, flavours of cranberry, kirsch, balsamic paste, orange peel. A finish which displays a touch of heat, but perhaps it’s just young and virile at this stage.

Either way, this is really decent stuff for the money.

Lovely Chianti substitute, which tastes like a $50 Chianti. Underrated on Delectable, it has sour cherry and an astringent finish. Nose is classic Chianti. A great value.

Very mature! Still a whiff of cranberry and sour cherry but probably better 20 years ago

Tuesday night kind of wine.

Great deep red color..like the medium closer to heavy mouthfeel with the acidity..more tightly structured than i expected..great value and great way to introduce someone to sangiovese..also great to bring for dinner party as would pair great with most pasta dishes and meats
