Black and red berries. Initial burst of pomegranate then quickly morphs to black berries then chemical and caramelized mocha (tar, etc). Very enjoyable!

Probably one of the most sophisticated Napa Howell Mtn Cabs ever made. Absolutely beautiful!

Amazing how well put together these wines are. Proof that Napa can be built to last. Still life left after 30 years...

As expected, heavy sediment stuck to the bottle. Two hour decant ran through Venturi. Jet black in the glass, cinnamon, chalk and green veggies on the nose- no signs of age. Black currant, French roast and earth fills out the palette. Amazed that the tannins and acidity are in harmony. Distinct, lingering finish that goes on and never ends with smoke being the highlight. The time is now. @Jennifer Saxby

Cheers from Bergen, Norway! An absolute picturesque spot for our vacation. Tonight, we visited Altona, a 400-yr old spot that has received 9 straight Wine Spectator awards for their phenomenal wine list.
I was shocked to see such a prestigious US wine on this wine list, and had to order a glass from this textbook vintage. Red currants on the nose and cigar box. Deep purple and long legs. On the palate, beautifully structured plum and cassis. This wine is GORGEOUS right now and has at least 10+ years before really peaking.

Dunn...how do I love thee, let me count the ways. A gorgeous expressive nose of black olives, black cherries, dried red currants, cigar box, and bay leaf. The palate shows such refined elegance with medium+ body, fine grained tannins, bright acidity and a pronounced flavor intensity of black cherries, red plums and black raspberries well integrated with notes of black olives, dried oregano, bay leaf, cigar box, soft leather, and violet leaves. Each flavor pops and shines until the extremely long finish. People always ask me about my favorite Napa producers for long-term aging and Dunn is always at the top of my list!
